With the beginning of the year, the resolutions and good intentions, and after the excesses that often accompany the Christmas holidays, many people decide to do a weight loss diet to lose the extra kilos accumulated and feel better. But we should always lose weight healthily, never with “miracle diets” for weight loss in a few days that might even harm our health.
A natural slimming drink that can help us in our goal, always accompanied by a healthy balanced diet and some daily exercise to activate our body, is the daikon tea.
The daikon carrot or Japanese radish (Raphanus sativus) is a native Japanese white radish with multiple properties and health benefits, including its ability to help you lose weight because it is able to dissolve the fats we eat. Daikon looks like a large carrot but colored similar to parsnip and can be used in many foods but is very effective if taken in tea or broth daikon as a slimming drink.
The daikon diet tea is made by grating the daikon to mix its juice (about two tablespoons) in hot water, developing a natural drink that will help us to absorb body fat and lose weight. To give it taste, add a pinch of unrefined sea salt or a teaspoon of soy sauce, tamari or shoyu. You can also add other vegetables like carrots, shiitake mushrooms or kombu seaweed to increase their properties and spice up our slimming tea. We can even add a tablespoon of grated daikon to our usual kukicha tea.
